Temuka artist Bob Darroch, who has again collaborated with New Zealand puzzle company Holdson to create two new jigsaw puzzles for his collection. The first puzzle (1000 pieces) depicts a scene of chaos, and once that is completed, the second puzzle (200 pieces) shows what happened behind the scenes.
Mr Darroch sketches several ideas on thin paper. Using a lightbox, he puts the pieces together and traces a rough copy. Once happy with the rough, the final is transferred to watercolour paper and colour added. It takes about six weeks from start to finish.

Back in December we wrote about the Philipino puzzle collector Gina Lacuna who now holds the Guiness Book of Records for the most jigsaw puzzles. Well she is in the media again, as she has achieved yet another feat by completing the worlds largest puzzle. You can read more about her amazing accomplishment here.

Due to demand, we have just introduced a range of puzzles specifically designed by an occupational therapist for people with memory loss or dementia. These puzzles have fewer, larger size pieces, and the images on the puzzles are designed exclusively so they have less detail and are based on themes of everyday life.
Congratulations to this lady, who, following treatment for breast cancer, decided to start a bucket list - and completing the 24000 piece 'Life' jigsaw was on her list.

It is a puzzlers nightmare! To complete a puzzle, and then have it collapse into pieces. Dave Evans spent over 200 hours putting together a 40000 piece jigsaw of the Queens Diamond Jubilee. While he was adjusting it, it collapsed. It was all caught on video. Watch the video here.

Ravensburger have just released a new 18000 piece jigsaw for the really serious puzzler - Heavenly sunset.
The artwork is by David Penfound, whose art has beautiful lighting and vibrant colours. His art is renowned for the little details that are only noticed on the second or third viewing.
You won't be able to resist these new, 300 piece, 'Can you find?' puzzles. They have pieces that are about 1 1/2 times bigger than a standard puzzle piece, and also test your observation skills as you look for the hidden object. Bright, light colours add to their appeal.
The INFINIPUZZLE is a unique and innovative jigsaw puzzle which gives the user a variety of options of assembly. Once the basic puzzle is complete, the user can move sections of the puzzle from one end to the other and change the picture composition and even the overall puzzle shape.
At this stage, three different images are available, and the producer, Avi Cohen, is looking for funding to be able to launch this innovative puzzle in the upcoming toy fairs of 2014.
